Puerto Ordaz is one of the main ports on the Orinoco
river and is sited 170 miles inland from the sea at the
junction of the Orinoco River with the Rio Caroni.
It is to be part of the new metropolis Ciudad Guayana made
up of San Felix, Ordaz, Palua, Matanzas and newly built
areas.
The Palua terminal facility is located on the Orinoco
River, slightly further downstream from Puerto Ordaz, at
the confluence of the Caroni and Orinoco Rivers.
